"Can you still hear the bombs? Because I can." What happens when you grow up in a war zone? When you breathe in and physically feel the political conflict every day? How do you cope as a child in such an environment?

Choreographer and performer Samaa Wakim grew up in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Growing up in a war zone means being permanently inhabited by politics and violence. In Losing It, Samaa Wakim's solo dance piece questions how this experience has shaped her identity, exploring how the trauma of past generations manifests itself in her own body. Using movement and sound, she evokes memories of her childhood and the imaginary world she created to survive. Propelled by her own sounds and choreographer Samar Haddad King's live music, she floats between fear and hope, between the sounds that frightened her and those that comforted her.
