In parallel with her exhibitions, Yto Barrada presents a film festival conceived in partnership with the Cinémathèque de Tanger, an institution she co-founded in 2006 when she revitalized an old cinema in the heart of Tangier. The program unfolds along several axes: two films in which Tangier is both setting and subject, between its mythical and marginal past and today's economic and social realities (screenings on October 9 and December 4); two films in resonance with the Festival d'Automne program, celebrating the freedom - and the price paid - by women creators in France and the United States from the 1970s to today (screenings on November 27 and December 11); two films that bear witness to contemporary citizen commitments and struggles (screenings on November 20 and December 18).
