Reflecting South Africa’s troubled past and fragmented present, this film program moves from 1960s and 1970s anti-apartheid documentaries to post-apartheid militant cinema and accounts of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Films by artists coming from neighboring countries and who have settled in South Africa further demonstrate the vitality of South African cinema.

Which voices nourish artistic practices? In parallel with the exhibition "Chantal Akerman. Travelling" presented at the Jeu de Paume art centre, the artist Manon de Boer and choreographer Latifa Laâbissi conjure up a space in which voice and gesture seek to understand the meaning of artistic genealogies.
