To create Faces, Maguy Marin drew inspiration from Edward Bernays’ 1928 essay Propaganda, which analyzed the principles of mass manipulation.
Performed by 28 dancers from Lyon’s ballet opera, the choreography is based on resemblance and mimicry, as dancers come together and apart. The soundtrack, combining street noises, voices and music, is composed by Denis Mariotte.
