Guillermo Calderón’s new diptych confronts Chile’s recent past head-on. Villa deals with the rehabilitation of one of the main torture sites during Pinochet’s dictatorship. Discurso is based on a fictitious farewell speech by Chile’s former leader Michelle Bachelet. Two brilliant meditations on history, performed by the same three women actors.
