The first Sinking of the Titanic (composed in 1969) was inspired by original sound material. And the orchestra played on.  But what did they play?  And did they stop?  Bryars has continued to develop the work, following research and knowledge of the shipwreck, creating music that explores the many intricate paths of memory and recollection, achieving a polysemic level both complex and mysterious – music perpetually reinvented, in a state of constant departure.
