One of Germany’s leading actresses, Angela Winkler has worked with Klaus Michael Grüber, Peter Zadek or Thomas Ostermeier. After playing in Robert Wilson’s versions of Lulu and The Threepenny Opera, she recorded a deeply personal album, accompanied by pianist Adam Benzwi. It pursues the cabaret singing tradition – from Kurt Weill to Eva Busch – while also paying tribute to French singer Barbara.
