In South Africa, pantsula is a lifestyle unto itself and a form of non-violent protest close to hip-hop. The company, whose name comes from a township known for the 1980s uprisings, collaborates with two choreographers – a white South African woman full of irreverence and energy, and a baroque Frenchman eager to ‘‘confront two different approaches to dance’’.
