One complains of having few readers; another longs to know its own ending; yet another wonders about the world beyond the library’s dusty bookshelves. In Gilberte Tsai’s play, a sort of “waking dream”, books are given the gift of gab – and the spectator gets to eavesdrop. Performed in the Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris, the play takes a troubling look at a world without people, without readers.
