Nina Laisné
A 2009 graduate of the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, Nina Laisné also studied traditional Argentine music. In her work, which combines film, music and contemporary art, she is interested in marginal identities that evolve in the shadow of official history, and in oral traditions when they are exposed to uprooting and cross-fertilisation. From 2010, with Os convidados, her images become sound, evoking traditional songs. In 2013, her film En présence, for which she collaborated with musician Daniel Zapico, crystallised the balance between visual and musical writing around religious reminiscences in Venezuelan folklore. In 2017, she created Romances inciertos, another Orlando, the fruit of her encounter with François Chaignaud. In 2018, the pair shot Mourn, O Natur! a short film inspired by Massenet's opera Werther. In 2020, Nina Laisné and Daniel Zapico set up a new record label, Alborada. Their debut album Au monde won numerous awards, including the prestigious Diapason d'Or, 4 Clés Télérama and 5 Étoiles Pizzicato.
