Maya Boquet

Maya Boquet is a sound artist, director and playwright. She collects and assembles stories, testimonies, archives and soundscapes, which she arranges differently depending on the device adopted: sound installation, radio or theatre. She defines the language specific to each of these media and seeks out the porosities and aesthetic transfers they can undergo, while exploring the broad continuum between documentary and fiction. She has written radio dramas for France Culture and France Inter, produced podcasts for Le Monde Diplomatique, and founded Radio Femmes Fatales, a radio performance group. With Émilie Rousset, she conceived and co-wrote Les Spécialistes (10 versions between 2014 and 2019) and Reconstitution: le procès de Bobigny (2019). Since 2022, she has been collaborating with Frédérique Aït-Touati on the strolling sound creations for Earthscape and Météores. In 2023, she directed L'énigme Rosemary Brown (first performed at Les Subsistances), then produced the sound investigations for Massacre de la rue Transnonain (broadcast by RTBF) and Questionnaire pour Lesconil 2024 (produced by FarWest).

RépertoireTheatre

In a highly original manner, Émilie Rousset and Maya Boquet bring to the stage testimonies and archives arising from a crucial event in the advancement of women's rights. Navigating a path between the fifteen performers, each spectator builds his or her own mental journey in relation to the subject and its ramifications in today's world, but also in terms of the very process of representation itself.
