Maud Blandel
Trained initially in contemporary dance, then in directing (Manufacture, Lausanne) and the visual arts (HEAD, Geneva), Maud Blandel has been developing her own choreographic pieces since 2015. Each of her works is based on a conceptual musical foundation in order to give body and form to various phenomena altered by the passage of time. She has worked on the notion of the sacrificed body and the spectacle of the female body (TOUCH DOWN, 2015), on the folklorisation of popular dance practices (Lignes de conduite, 2018), and on the killing of time through a type of 17th-century musical entertainment called Divertimento (Diverti Menti, 2020). Alongside her work, she collaborates or works as an assistant with artists such as Cindy Van Acker, Karim Bel Kacem, Heiner Goebbels and Romeo Castellucci. She presented her piece L'œil nu at the Festival d'Avignon with the Sélection suisse en Avignon en 2023. Maud Blandel is a resident artist at the Arsenic (Lausanne), and is an artist supported by Parallèle (Marseille).

Maud Blandel L'oeil nu
Taking the phenomena of stellar degeneration as her starting point, Maud Blandel explores the confused memory of a tragic autobiographical event. Her work L'oeil nu questions our perception of what falls within us and around us, giving rise to bursts of emotion and, at times, humour.
