Luigi De Angelis

Luigi De Angelis (born in 1974 in Brussels) is particularly interested in the relationship between music, scenic space and sound space, and creates works influenced as much by the visual arts as by contemporary music. Between 2011 and 2013, in collaboration with Sergio Policicchio, he composed Soundscape Symphony of the city of Ravenna (Tempo Reale). Luigi De Angelis is also active in the field of opera direction, notably with Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (2015) and Wagner's Lohengrin (2022) at Bologna's Teatro Communale, and Haydn's L'Isola disabitata (2021) at Ravenna's Teatro Alighieri and Dijon's Opéra. In October 2021, at the RomaEuropa Festival, he presents The Garden, a hybrid work combining a concert and a video polyptych, created in collaboration with soprano Claron McFadden and musician Emanuele Wiltsch Barberio.
