Geoffroy Jourdain

While studying musicology at the Sorbonne, Geoffroy Jourdain soon became involved in directing vocal ensembles, and while still a student founded Les Cris de Paris, quickly recognized for the audacity of its artistic project and its commitment to contemporary creation. He is interested in the creation of innovative musical performances. Alongside Benjamin Lazar, he has created a number of lyrical and musical-theater works. He has been invited by the Atelier lyrique de l'Opéra de Paris to conduct lyrical works, as well as ensembles such as Capella Amsterdam and the chorus of the Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra. He has created works by Beat Furrer, Mauro Lanza and Marco Stroppa, but is also interested in 17th- and 18th-century repertoire. His curiosity for varied repertoires and the originality of his approach have led him to perform at the Opéra-Comique, IRCAM and the Cité de la Musique, as well as at Radio-France's Présences festival and the Venice Biennale.
