Fanny & Alexander
Fanny & Alexander is an artistic collaboration initiated in 1992 in Ravenna (Italy) between Luigi de Angelis (stage director, set designer and lighting designer) and Chiara Lagani (playwright, author and actress). Fanny & Alexander produce events at the crossroads of theater, visual arts, music, film and literature, inspired by their conversations, on and off stage, with an ever-renewing network of artists, most recently Storia di un'amicizia after Elena Ferrante (2018), Se questo è Levi after Primo Levi (2018), Sylvie e Bruno after Lewis Carroll (2021) and Addio Fantasmi after Nadia Terranova (2022). In 2023, they present Nina for the first time in France at Ircam as part of the Festival d'Automne à Paris.

Fanny & Alexander Nina
In Nina, the Fanny & Alexander company investigates, in a blend of music and performance, the human voice, via the technique of heterodirection. The soprano Claron McFadden embodies the mythical figure of Nina Simone, and conveys the unique energy of this individual who set out to be "the first black pianist".
