Dalila Belaza
Through dance, Dalila Belaza seeks utopian territory where the intimate and the universal meet. For 20 years, she has distinguished herself as a performer and privileged artistic partner of her sister, choreographer Nacera Belaza. Together, they reflect on the deep memory of the body and on dance as an inner journey, their demands and their shared approach to the body uniting them for the long term. After a trip to Aveyron in 2019, Dalila Belaza explores the modalities of a new world as a choreographer and performer. So, at the end of 2020, Dalila Belaza founded hiya compagnie, and in 2021 created her first show, Au cœur. This major project initiated a field of research that would guide her work in the years to come, with the creation of her solo Figures in 2022, followed by the revival of Rive in 2023. Through her art, she hopes to create intersections between the memory of folk rituals and the gestures of contemporary dance.

Dalila Belaza Figures (version performative)
In Figures, Dalila Belaza looks into the possibility of a universal rite, by inventing an imaginary traditional dance "without origin or territory" that links the present to eternity. This force takes possession of the body, echoing a heritage that each of us carries with us, often unconsciously.
Dalila Belaza Rive
Using the 'pas de bourrée' dance step as her starting point, Dalila Belaza explores the universal part of the relationship between humans, their territory and our immemorial reminiscences. With a telluric intensity that extends beyond time, she builds a community linked by rhythms, and in doing so questions otherness and states of transcendence.
