Claron McFadden

American soprano Claron McFadden (born in 1961, lives and works in the Netherlands), a graduate of Rochester's Eastman School of Music, has a varied repertoire ranging from the baroque to the contemporary, including the title role in Alban Berg's Lulu (Glyndebourne Festival) and Cavalli's La Didone (Teatro Alla Scala). In the field of contemporary music, she regularly collaborates with the Arditti Quartet and Klangforum Wien, and takes part in the creation of works by Harrison Britwistle, Jörg Widmann and Michel van der Aa. Claron McFadden is also involved in interdisciplinary artistic projects, notably Alain Platel's Pitié, and has herself conceived several projects, including Lilith (2012), Secrets (2015) and Façade: The last days of Mata Hari (2017). She is artist-in-residence at Muziektheater Transparant.
